Jewel “Jean” Tooley, 94, of Decatur, IL entered the peace of eternity on August 28, 2010.
Jean was born in the small town of Patterson, IL on March 14, 1916, the daughter of John and Anna Baze.
She married John W. Tooley, a Wabash Railroad conductor, on April 16, 1938 and moved to Decatur. John preceded her in death on December 1, 1975.
After raising her family, Jean worked in Real Estate and later as an in-home caregiver. Jean also was a published poet, which she enjoyed writing throughout her entire life.
Along with a child lost in childbirth, Debbie, Jean leaves daughters: Bette Lou Wilson of Decatur, IL, Bonie Lee (O.B.) Perry of Decatur, IL, Cande Layne Bustamante and son Richard W. (Dodie) Tooley of Decatur, IL; grandsons: Anthony B. Perry of Decatur, IL, Christopher W. Perry of Chicago, IL, John David and Nathan Tooley of Decatur, IL; Her only great granddaughter: Lauren Bustamante of Decatur, IL.
The family would like to thank Dr. Patel, and especially St. John’s Hospice for their support and caring services.

Dear Cande, Rich , John David and Nate . I was sorry to see your moms passing. We were neighbors along time agoe when she lived on wood st . Our house was right behind hers. My daughter MaShonna used to spend alot of time over there with her. In fact your mom gave her some of Cande's sweaters to ware. MaShonna loved those and wore them along time. I will be telling MaShonna about her passing she will be sad to here about it. Lee Martin
